Ph.D. Geology
The next Ph.D. Course (Geology) will start on and from 2nd September 2013. About: The properties of the University of Calcutta trace back to its days of inception. The buildings came up because of benevolent munificence of the illustrious donors like Shri Taraknath Palit, Shri Rashbehari Ghosh, Maharaja Rameswar Singh of Darbhanga and others. Over the years, as the University started assuming a multicampus character, many of its buildings and properties came into existence chiefly on account of support and assistance from the Government of West Bengal, University Grants Commission and some endowments to the University.
The properties and buildings of the University as per existing rules are administered by the Estates and Trust Department. There is a committee on Gifts and Trusts which makes appropriate recommendations to the Syndicate for taking decisions in respect of estates and trusts of the University.
