NITTTR, Chandigarh
Since its inception in 1967, NITTTR (formerly TTTI) Chandigarh has made rapid strides in the areas of engineering and technology and emerging areas like computer, educational technology, entrepreneurship development, rural development, industry-institute interaction and educational management. Presently, the institute conducts more than 400 short-term training programmes annually for teachers of polytechnics and engineering colleges, professionals and managers of industries. The institute also conducts a large number of AICTE sponsored Summer and Winter Schools every year.
The institute offers six postgraduate programmes in engineering and engineering education through regular and modular modes. In addition to education and training programmes, the institute renders extension services to polytechnics, undertakes research and development projects and develops print and non-print instructional material.
GZS PTU Campus, Bathinda
GZSPTU Campus, Bathinda is the first institute established by the Punjab State Government in year 1989. Its foundation stone was laid on Oct. 23, 1989, by the then governor of Punjab Sh. S. S. Ray. Initially set up as Government Engineering College, college was given an autonomous status in the year 1992 by constituting a Board of Governors (BOG) for its management. Members of the BOG include eminent academicians, industrialists and senior representatives of the state Government. The college has now been upgraded as a campus of Punjab Technical University Jalandhar and has been renamed as GZS PTU Campus, Bathinda. College provides an excellent academic environment created by the well-qualified and highly dedicated faculty. College is running six B.Tech degree programmes and one B.Arch programme. College is running several PG programmes leading to Master’s degrees.
The department of Electrical Engineering offers B. Tech degree in Electrical Engineering and M Tech degree (part-time) in Power Engineering. Two seats have been allocated to the department under QIP scheme for Ph. D programme.
