Applications on the prescribed forms are invited from the candidates residing in Punjab, Union Territory of Chandigarh and from Kashmiri Migrants* for admission to following Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes for the academic session 2013-14 as per eligibility given against each:-
UNDERGRADUATE
B.V.Sc. & A.H. 5-year programme
10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English from a recognized Board/University with at least 50% marks in aggregate (40% marks in aggregate for SC/ST, BC & Kashmiri Migrants categories) excluding optional subject.
B.F.Sc. (Bachelor of Fisheries Science) 4-year programme
10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English from a recognized Board/University with at least 50% marks in aggregate (40% marks in aggregate for SC/ST, BC & Kashmiri Migrants categories) excluding optional subject.
B.Tech. (Dairy Technology) 4-year programme
10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English from a recognized Board/University with at least 50% marks in aggregate (40% marks in aggregate for SC/ST, BC & Kashmiri Migrants categories) excluding optional subject. Nominees from other states for two seats (additional seats) where College of Dairy Science & Technology does not exist.
POSTGRADUATE
M.V.Sc.
Animal Genetics & Breeding, Animal Nutrition, Livestock Production Management, Livestock Products Technology, Veterinary Anatomy, Veterinary Biochemistry, Veterinary Gynaecology & Obstetrics, Veterinary Medicine, Veterinary Microbiology, Veterinary Parasitology, Veterinary Pathology, Veterinary Pharmacology & Toxicology, Veterinary Physiology, Veterinary Public Health & Epidemiology, Veterinary Surgery & Radiology and Veterinary & Animal Husbandry Extension Education
The minimum qualification for admission to M.V.Sc. programmes in College of Veterinary Science (other than inservice candidates) shall be B.V.Sc. & A.H. or equivalent degree with minimum OCPA of 6.00 (out of 10.00) or at least 60% marks in aggregate.
M.V.Sc./M.Sc. (Animal Biotechnology)
The minimum qualification for admission to M.V.Sc./M.Sc. (Animal Biotechnology) programme (other than inservice candidates) shall be B.V.Sc. & A.H. or B.Sc. (Biotechnology/Medical) or B.Sc. (Hons.) Biotechnology/Biochemistry/Microbiology and Molecular Genetics or equivalent degree with minimum OCPA of 6.00 (out of 10.00) or at least 60% marks in aggregate.
M.F.Sc. (Aquaculture)
The minimum qualification for admission to M.F.Sc. programme (other than inservice candidates) shall be B.F.Sc. from a recognized University with at least 60% marks in aggregate.
M.Tech. (Dairy Technology)
The minimum qualification for admission to M.Tech. (Dairy Technology) programme in the College of Dairy Science and Technology (other than inservice candidates) shall be B.Tech. (Dairy Technology)/B.Sc. Food Tech./B.Tech. Food Tech. (4-years degree) or equivalent degree with minimum OCPA of 6.00 (out of 10.00) or at least 60% marks in aggregate. Preference will be given to the candidate with B.Tech. (Dairy Technology) degree.
*Kashmiri Migrants are required to appear in the Common Entrance Test-GADVASU along with other candidates for admission to B.V.Sc.&A.H./B.F.Sc./B.Tech.(Dairy Tech.) programmes.
Note:
For inservice candidates for all Master’s Programmes, the OCPA shall be 5.50 (out of 10.00) or 55% marks in aggregate in the qualifying examination.
If the M.V.Sc./M.Sc./M.F.Sc./M.Tech. seats remain vacant after filling the seats from Punjab Domicile at the 1st counselling, the candidates of other States who apply for admission to postgraduate programmes, will be eligible for admission on merit basis at the 2nd counselling of the said programme.
Prospectus containing detail about the eligibility, schedule of Entrance Test/ Counselling/ Interview/Admission procedure, reservation of seats etc. along with application form can be obtained from the office of the Dean, College of Veterinary Science, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana -141004 from 15.04.2013 onwards either by sending crossed Bank Draft for `1600/- drawn in favour of the Comptroller, GADVASU, Ludhiana, payable at any scheduled bank at Ludhiana or personally on payment of `1500/- in cash from the office of the Dean, College of Veterinary Science, GADVASU, Ludhiana from 9.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. on all working days. The University will not be responsible for any postal delay or loss in the transit. Admission form for postgraduate programme can be downloaded from the University website. Bank draft for `3400/- for Master’s programme favouring Comptroller, GADVASU payable at Ludhiana should be attached with the downloaded application form.
