Tata Memorial Centre (TMC)
Applications are invited, in the prescribed format, for the award of JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOWSHIPS JRF 2013 for Ph.D. Health Sciences (Epidemiology) at Tata Memorial Centre.
The Tata Memorial Centre (TMC) is an autonomous Grant-in-aid Institution of the Department of Atomic Energy. The TMC is comprised of the Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research and Education in Cancer (ACTREC) and the Tata Memorial Hospital (TMH). The TMC conducts Ph.D. program in Life Sciences and Health Sciences and is affiliated to the Homi Bhabha National Institute (Deemed University). On-going research at TMC includes basic, Epidemiological and translational work in Cancer.
Qualifications: M.Sc. (Applied Biology/ Biochemistry/ Bioinformatics/ Biophysics/ Biotechnology/ Botany/ Life Sciences/ Microbiology/ Molecular Biology/ Zoology/Statistics); M.Tech. (Bioinformatics/ Biotechnology); M.Pharm.; or M.B.B.S.; from a recognized University, with ³ 60% aggregate marks. Those awaiting results may also apply.
Stipend: Rs. 16000/-+ 30% HRA (if hostel facility is not allotted) per month as applicable. Limited hostel facility is available.
HOW TO APPLY All the candidates must completely fill the application (available on the website), sign and mail it along with all the enclosures mentioned in the application form and a Demand Draft for Rs. 300/- drawn in favor of TMC payable in Mumbai (no fees for female candidates and for SC/ ST or physically handicapped candidates, provided proof is attached) so as to reach the Office of Director (Academics) Tata Memorial Centre, 13th Floor, Homi Bhabha Block , Tata Memorial hospital, Dr. E. Borges Marg , Parel , Mumbai– 400012 latest by 1st May 2013. Candidates must write their name and application number behind the DD. TMC reserves the right to increase the minimum eligibility criteria to a higher percentage of marks in the qualifying exam, in case of receipt of large number of applications. During screening, incomplete forms and those without enclosures will be rejected.
A list of candidates found eligible to appear for the written exam will be displayed on the TMH website by 26th May 2013. The date and venue of written examination will be displayed at TMH website. The list of candidates who have qualified in this exam will be displayed and the interview of selected candidates will be held on the next two days of written examination.
A separate list of candidates fulfilling our eligibility criteria and who have valid Junior Research Fellowships from CSIR/ UGC/ ICMR/ DBT or other recognized agencies will also be displayed on the TMH website by 26th May 2013. They will be called for direct interview
Candidates who receive external fellowship intimation after 26 May 2013 must send proof of the award by e-mail [dikshitrp@tmc.gov.in] to seek interview dates.
