Research at IISER Pune covers a wide range of research areas in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics. In addition, we actively encourage research initiatives that span multiple disciplines.
IISER Pune offers modern research laboratories and computational facilities as well as comfortable housing for students selected into a graduate program at the institute. A core component of graduate student life at IISER Pune includes opportunities to participate in a broad range of seminars, meetings and workshops. This gives our students opportunities to interact with people from other research organizations within the country and abroad.
IISER Pune runs PhD program in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics. For selecting the students to register in respective PhD program, IISER Pune conducts written screening test in specific disciplines followed by the interviews. However, to be considered for PhD program in Biology or Chemistry, clearing any ONE written screening test (Physics/Chemistry/Biology/Mathematics) is sufficient. Students can then opt to be interviewed for PhD program in Biology or Chemistry.
The last date for receipt of completed applications ONLINE is April 15, 2013.
