Training School on “COMPUTER AIDED DRUG DESIGN: HANDS-ON WORKSHOP” (28 JANUARY – 9 FEBRUARY 2013)
Eligibility Entry level faculty and candidates pursuing pharmaceutical research as career.
Course Structure
Drug discovery and the development process
Basic principles of receptor identification and validation
Sequence analysis and homology modeling
Analogue based design approaches including traditional QSAR, 3D QSAR, pharmacophore modeling and shape based methods
Structure based methods, binding site analysis, molecular docking, scoring functions, virtual screening
Prediction of physicochemical properties like ADMET. Property filtering of compound databases.
Research methodology in sciences
Exposure to various analytical techniques
Hands-on training on various available software.
Last date of application: 28 December 2012
Course Fee The travel, boarding and lodging of selected participants are sponsored by UGC. They will be provided sleeper class train fare/non-AC bus fare for the shortest distance from their place to Panjab University, Chandigarh to attend the workshop on production of the original tickets.
