Golden Jubilee Convocation - Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh is Coming
The stage is all set at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) for the Golden Jubilee Convocation on December 8 in the Pal Auditorium. The Prime Minister of India, Dr Manmohan Singh will be the Chief Guest on this occasion. Besides, the convocation will witness the presence of the Governor of Punjab and Chancellor of the University, Sh. Shivraj V. Patil; Chief Minister of Punjab, S. Prakash Singh Badal and Sh. Manish Tiwari, Minister of State (Independent charge), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India.
During the convocation, the Chancellor will confer the degrees of Doctor of Science (honoris causa) on Dr Manmohan Singh, Prime Minister; S. Prakash Singh Badal, Chief Minister; Dr G.S. Kalkat; Chairman of Punjab State Farmers’ Commission and former PAU Vice-Chancellor; Dr R.S. Paroda, former Secretary of DARE and former Director General of ICAR; and Dr J.S. Kanwar, former Deputy Director General, International Crop Research Institute for Semi-Arid Tropics, Hyderabad. Apart from this, 32 students will be awarded Ph.D degrees and three students the gold medals.
