Research Entrance Test in Chemistry 2012
Research Entrance test (RET) in Chemistry for admission to the Ph.D. programme of West Bengal State University, Barasat will be held on 04th March (Sunday), 2012. The name of the candidates selected for appearing in the RET examination is enclosed herewith. Those candidates, who have already qualified in the NET/SLET/GATE/SET examination are exempted from appearing in the RET. However, they are required to appear in the interview to be notified in the University website on a later date.
Reporting time in the Department of Chemistry : 11.15 A.M
Time of Examination : 11.45 AM
Duration of Examination : 2 hours
Syllabus of RET (in Chemistry) : As per UGC-NET
Question pattern for RET : The RET will be of 100 marks and will consist of PART-A (60 marks) and PART-B (40 marks). In Part-A. the candidate has to answer 30 questions each carrying two marks, whereas in PART-B he/she has to answer 10 questions, each carrying 4 marks. Questions in PART-A and PART-B will be of multiple choice type. PART-A will comprise questions from physics, mathematics, biology and computer science at the 10+2 level, as well as from B.Sc (Honours) curriculum in chemistry. PART-B will comprise questions from B.Sc (Honours) curriculum and M.Sc in chemistry.
