M.Phil Programme (Museology and Heritage Studies) Admission 2011 - 2012
The applications on prescribed forms are invited for admission to M.Phil Programme (Museology and Heritage Studies) in the Centre for Studies in Museology, University of Jammu for the Academic session 2011-2012. It is a two term full time course including dissertation. Candidates having minimum of 55% in M.A Museology, History, Archaeology, History of Art, Conservation, Sociology, Anthropology, Geography, Botany, Geology, Zoology, MBA(HT), MBA, Buddhist Studies, Fine Arts, Environment Science, Chemistry, Fine Arts, languages , Law, etc, from the University of Jammu or any other University / Institution recognize d by UGC are eligible for admission. Out of total seats, 8% are reserved for SC/ST categories.
Applications complete in all respects and duly supported by relevant documents should reach the office of the Centre for Studies in Museology, 1st floor, General Zorawar Singh Auditorium Complex on or before 31st October, 2011 till 5 p.m.
Admission shall be based on Entrance Test which will consist of 1. Research Aptitude component (25 marks) and 2. Academic component (75 marks). The question paper on Research Aptitude will be descriptive in nature and will consist of five questions, candidates will be asked to attempt two question of 12 ½ marks each. The Academic component paper will consist of 50 multiple choice objective type questions, candidates will be asked to attempt all, each multiple choice question will be of 1 ½ marks each . The questions will be based on Museology, History, Heritage and allied subjects to check the candidate’s aptitude in Museology and Heritage.
Date of Entrance Test: 14th November, 2011. Time: 11 a.m
Entrance Test Fee: Rs. 500/-(DD in favour of, Director, Centre for Studies in Museology)
A candidate shall require minimum 50% marks in Entrance Test. The merit of the candidate shall be calculated on the basis of 50% weightage to the Entrance Test and 50% weightage to the Academic merit of the candidate at the P.G.level. The duration of the test shall be of 2 ½ hours.
