Advertisement for Admission to Ph.D Programme
Applications are invited for admission to Ph.D programme in History, Department of History, University of Calcutta, 1, Reformatory Street, Kolkata-27. Candidates should apply in the prescribed proforma by paying Rs.100/= through a challan obtainable from college street campus (cash counter). The eligible candidates will have to appear in a written examination of two hours duration to be held in this Department on 26/02/10 at 2pm. The list of successful candidates will be displayed in the Notice Board of the Department on 03/03/10. They will have to appear in an interview, the date of which will be notified on the Departmental Notice Board. The final selection for joining this programme will be on the basis of the interview. The allocation of supervisors will be on the basis of this interview (See CU website for the areas of research in the Department).
Those candidates who have already passed U.G.C / CSIR (JRF) Examinations / NET / SET / SLET / Teacher Fellowship or equivalent examinations need not appear at the written examination and can directly apply to appear at the interview.
