P.U. to get more than 15 crore U.G.C. Grant
The U.G.C. has approved rupees 1579.25 lakhs grant as part of XIth Plan Allocation to Panjab University. A communication to this effect has been sent by the Secretary, University Grants Commission, New Delhi.
Disclosing this here today the official sources said that the grant is five times more than that of the grant received last year. The details of grant is as under:-

Merged Schemes 350.00
Internal Quality Assurance Cell 5.00
The release of grant will be linked to academic and administrative reforms and compliance of various polices of Govt. of India rules, such as:-
1. Implementation of the Govt. of Indian Reservation Policy of SC/ST
2. All Statutory posts should be filled up the appointment through Selection Committee as per the UGC Regulations.
3. All vacant Teaching Posts should be filled up expeditiously.
4. Annual Accounts, Annual Reports and Quality assessment Status Report should be submitted in time i.e. by 31st December of the year.
