(1) INFORMATION TO CANDIDATES FOR Ph.D. PROGRAMME

Candidates who satisfy the general eligibility criteria and the educational qualification shown below are eligible to apply for Ph.D. Programme.
GENERAL ELIGIBILITY
1 Master's Degree of this University or any other qualification recognized as equivalent thereto in the fields of study notified from time to time by this University. Specific Educational Qualifications are given in Clause 2.
2 Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering / Technology of this University or any other qualification recognized as equivalent thereto in the fields of study with a minimum of 15 Years of R & D Experience in National research laboratories / Public sector undertakings and with minimum of three publications in referred journals / two patents in the last five years.
3 A minimum of 55% percent marks/CGPA of 5.5 on a 10 point scale in the qualifying examination (50 percent marks or CGPA of 5.0 on a 10 point scale, in case of SC/ST candidates). For M.A (English) Degree holders including SC/ST applicants a minimum of 50 percent marks is necessary.
4 The Clause 1.3 does not apply if the qualifying degree is M.S (By Research) of this University or recognized as equivalent.

SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS
Completed application form and data sheet (with all enclosures securely stitched to it) should be sent to “The Director, Centre for Research, Anna University - Chennai, Chennai – 25 so as to reach on or before 15.11.2008 at 05.45 p.m along with a demand draft drawn in favour of “The DIRECTOR (RESEARCH), ANNA UNIVERSITY” payable at Chennai - 25 for Rs.600/- (Rupees Six hundred only) for general category or for Rs.300/- (Rupees three hundred only) for Tamil Nadu SC/ST Candidates for processing the application. The application fee is non-refundable.
Application received after the due date or without due demand draft will be summarily rejected.
