Announces Student Counselling for admission
The Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST) is a deemed to be university set up under Department and offers undergraduate B.Tech programme in Avionics, Aerospace Engineering and 5 year integrated masters in Applied Sciences. The Institute provides a full fledged infrastructure of international standard to develop an excellent academic and research atmosphere. The academic programme for the year 2007-08 was started in a full fledged alternate campus adjunct to world renowned Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre at Thiruvananthapuram. Development of permanent campus has been initiated and is expected to be realized in the next one year.
IIST announces the student counselling for admission to its academic programme on July 17-18, 2008 between 0900 hours to 2000 hours at Bangalore.
Procedure: The total Counselling activities are divided in to two parts is viz., Pre-Counselling activities and Counselling activities as follows (Visit Website www.iist.ac.in for more details)
Pre Counselling activities:
(1) Students placed in the extended merit list IIT-JEE 2008 and primary merit list of IIT-JEE 2008 are invited to register their name, to seek admission into the institute, Online in IIST website from June 11-30, 2008.
(2) Based on the Online registration and merit order, a combined list of students from extended merit list and primary merit list, who have not been alloted any seat bu IIT-JEE 2008 in its counselling, will be generated for consideration for counselling.
(3) Required number of students, in order of merit, from combined merit list will be invited for counselling scheduled on July 17-18, 2008
(4) Final list of students to be invited for the counselling will be announced in website July 4, 2008.
Counselling activities:-
(1) Verification of X marks card for proof.
(2) Verification of original 10+2 marks card for successful completion of 10+2 standard and other required record/ testimonials in support of the claims of the student.
(3) Seat selection by the candidate.
(4) Submission of original records 10th marks card. Transfer Certificate, Conduct Certificate and Migration Certificate.
(5) Issue of seat selection certificate and admit card.
IMPORTANT DATES TO REMEMBER:-
(1) Start of Online Registration of candidates placed in IIT-JEE 200 merit list:-
June 11, 2008
(2) Closure of Online Registration:- June 30, 2008
(3) Announcement of Final counselling list in website:- July 4, 2008
(4) Counselling:- July 17-18, 2008
(5) Execution of bond and admission:- August 9-10, 2008
(6) Commencement of Classes:- August 11, 2008
The Candidates who join Indian Institute of Space and Science and Technology to pursue academic programme will be given assistanceship to cover the complete cost of education. All such candidates will have to execute a bond with IIST to serve Indian Space Research Oragnisation for a period of five Years on successful completion of the course with 6.5 CGPA or equivalent.
