Applications are invited from Indian Citizens for admission to the Post Graduate & Research Programmes, for the Academic year 2008-09. Application form and other information can also be downloaded from NITK Website http://www.nitk.ac.in from 09.04.2008 and sent to the Dy. Registrar (Academic) NITK. along with necessary D.D. Rs.500/- (in case of SC/ST Rs.150/-) drawn in favour of the Director, National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal, Srinivasnagar, payable at State Bank of India/Canara Bank, at Surathkal. Application without the D.D for the required amount, will not be considered. The last date for submission of completed in application is 28.05.2008.

• M.Tech (Research) Degree programmes are offered in all the M.Tech specializations mentioned above.
Eligibility:
Admission to a M.Tech. / M.Tech (Research) Programme shall be open to candidates who have passed the prescribed qualifying Examination with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of atleast 5.5 in the 0-10 scale grading system, or not less than 55% of marks in the aggregate (taking into account the marks scored in all the subjects of all the public/university examinations conducted during the entire prescribed period for the degree programme). However, this prescribed minimum shall be a CGPA of 5.0 or 50% marks in the aggregate for SC/ST candidates.
B.
a) M.Sc. PROGRAMME : M.Sc. in Chemistry ( Two years – four Semester) (On self financing basis)
Eligibility :
A Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 6.0 in the 0-10 scale grading system, or not less than 60% of marks in the aggregate (in all the years of course of study in respective subjects).However, this prescribed minimum shall be CGPA of 5.5 or 55% marks in the aggregate for SC/ST candidates.
b) M.Sc. PROGRAMME : M.Sc. in Physics ( Two years – four Semester) (On self financing basis)
Eligibility :
A Bachelor’s Degree in Physics with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 6.0 in the 0-10 scale grading system, or not less than 60% of marks in the aggregate (in all the years of course of study in respective subjects).However, this prescribed minimum shall be CGPA of 5.5 or 55% marks in the
aggregate for SC/ST candidates
M.B.A. PROGRAMME (Full Time – 4 Semesters) only OBC and SC/ST Candidates may apply.
Eligibility :
1) Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a Recognized University with not less than 60% marks (55% for SC/ST) in the aggregate taking into
account the marks scored in all subjects of all the University Examination conducted during the entire prescribed period of the degree programme. . Final year
students can also apply but admission is subject to fulfilling the eligibility criteria.
2) CAT 2007 Score
Admission is based on the Rank/Score obtained in the CAT 2007 and Group Discussion / Interview.
