Punjab Technical University (PTU) To Conduct CET on June 7, 2008
Punjab Technical University (PTU) has decided to exempt students aspiring to join the architecture engineering stream from appearing in the Combined Entrance Test (CET), Scheduled to be held on June. Students aspiring to take up engineering and pharmacy discipline would have to appear in the test.
Dr. VK Arora, PTU Dean (Academics), said students would be admitted to the architecture stream on the basis of their performance in the qualifying examination and the National Aptitude Test for Architecture (NATA) conducted by council of Architecture.
"We will add 50 percent of the marks obtained in the qualifying examination as well as NATA to prepare the merit list" he said.
He pointed out such that such students would have to submit application forms for CET-2008 to the University authorities, but without any examination fees. there are 400 seats in architecture engineering in State Colleges. Arora said there were 15,505 seats for various engineering streams in their 42 affiliated college. Besides, 1280 students will be admitted in various discipline to
GNDU, Amritsar,
Punjabi University, Patiala and
PAU Ludhiana
"There are 1000 pharmacy seats in 27 affilated colleges" he added.
He said the last date for submission of application forms may be May 31, while result of CET would decalred on June 14, 2008 " Counselling for admissions will conducted on June 30" he added.
