ANNOUNCEMENT FOR INVITING NOMINATION FOR PANJAB UNIVERSITY BHAGYATARA AWARD-2008
Panjab University Bhagyatara Award is a prestigious Award of Rs.50,000. It is awarded annually by the Panjab University, Chandigarh to an outstanding scientist who has made significant contribution in the areas of Organic Chemistry/Biochemistr /Parmaceutical Chemistry/Dairy Chemistry. Well known Scientists, Dr.K.N.Ganesh(NCL,Pune), Dr.Santanu Bhattacharya (IISc, Bangalore), Prof.S.Kotha(IIT,Mumbai), Prof.Subodh Kumar (GNDU, Amritsar) and Prof.V.K.Singh (IIT, Kanpur) are the previous recipients of this award. The Awardee is selected on the basis of the merit of his/her research work evaluated by a panel of Experts from among the Nominations received from different Universities/Research Institutes from all over India.
GUIDELINES FOR THE AWARD
1. The Awardee must be an Indian national.
2. Should be of the age of 50 years or below at the time of Nomination.
3. The Award will not ordinarily be shared.
4. The award will normally be conferred at a formal presentation ceremony to be held at the Panjab University. The Awardee will make a presentation of his/her work before the student and faculty of Panjab University.
5. The work done in the proceeding 10 years will receive a special attention.
6. The nominations are to be received on the prescribed Proforma and should be accompanied by necessary documents.
7. The nominations for the Award should be duly made by the Heads of the Institutions, Vice-Chancellors of the Universities, Directors of IIT and National Laboratories, Deans and Head of Departments and Fellows of National Academies.
