PROJECT DESIGNED ON WATER LEVEL INDICATOR
A 10-day Summer Training organized for the benefit of MCA IV Semester students and Computer faculty at Guru Nanak Institute of Management & Technology (GNIMT), Gujarkhan Campus, Model Town, Ludhiana started on 9 June 2008 concluded today.
The main topics covered in this training were general awareness, working and behaviour of daily use Electronic equipment such as PCP Designing, DVR, CCTV Independent Motion Detection Device, Wireless and Home Security Device and their interface with Computers.
Mr. Bhupinder Singh, Secretary Punjab Electronic Industry Association (PEIA) was the resource person, who is engaged in dealing with the Electronic Equipment for the last 15 years. In this training workshop, students designed Water Level Indicator, which indicates that how much water is there into the water tank. It indicates periodically the levels at 25%, 50%, 75% and when Water level reaches at 100%, it generates a bell that Water Tank is full. The same message can be sent through landline telephones, Mobile Phones that your Water Tank is full through a CDMA device, the cost of which is just Rs. 100/-. The main purpose is to prevent the water wastages of the Houses.
The students of MCA-IV collected the data from the houses located at Dugri Phase I to Phase III, Housing Board colonies, BRS Nagar, LIG flats, MIG Flats, HIG Flats, Model Town, Focal point Phase-I and II and Sector 32, 38 and 39, which comprised about one lac residential houses. The main feature of this training was that under the expert guidance of Mr. Bhupinder Singh and his Associate Ms. Rajni, a team of twelve students of MCA IV Semester of GNIMT has designed a unique Project on Water Level Indicator for use in the residential houses to prevent wastage of water. They were divided into 6 teams of two students each.
The students who participated in the Workshop are Manjit Singh, Gurpreet Kaur, Jasvinder Singh, Harsimran Kaur, Harleen Kaur, Jasleen Kaur, Sukhmani Duggal, Sheenu Garg, Harjotika Kaur, Saurabh Jain, Remonica Sharma and Tarun Gupta.
Mr. Vikramjeet Singh and Mr. Tripatdeep Singh, Lecturer GNIMT were the Coordinators of this Summer Training.
Dr. (Col.) H.S. Singha, Director, GNIMT extended best wishes to the trainees as this training will update their knowledge in handling the electronic equipment.
